Contemporary gospel vocalist and evangelist Beverly Crawford made her performing debut at the age of three, singing at her father's church; a few years later, she joined her siblings in a group called the Camps Sisters. A battle with cancer drew her closer to her faith, and in 1989 she and husband Todd Crawford founded the Potter's House Ministries. After appearing on recordings including the Bobby Jones Gospel's "Bring It to Jesus" and the Music City Mass Choir's "We Need to Hear It From You," Crawford made her Warner Bros. label solo debut with 1995's Jesus, Precious King; Now That I'm Here followed in 1998 which includes the hit title song and "Just As Soon (I'll Be Shouting)."
Beverly Crawford has always warmed hearts with her no-holds-barred singing style that ranges from smoothly-rendered worship ballads to gruff, kick-off-shoes, traditional shouting power that rivals the best of what Gospel has to offer. It’s always been that way for Crawford, from her time as one of the lead singers with the incredible Bobby Jones & New Life and through her solo projects.
Since the unleash of her solo career in 1995 her sophomore album, Now That I'm Here was nominated for a Grammy in 1999. In 2001, Crawford released a studio album (except for 1 live song) entitled Beverly on Dexterity Records (the label of the prominent minister Bishop T.D. Jakes) and in 2003 returned to the live church setting with Live Family and Friends which includes "Higher in the Lord," "Hold On" and featured guest such as Bobby Jones, Shirley Murdock, Melvin Williams of the Williams Brothers, and her daughter Latrina Crawford.
After a four-year hiatus from recording, Crawford returns to the scene with a new project, Beverly Crawford: Live in Los Angeles. It was released under her newly signed label, JDI records, the first single released, and “He’s Done Enough” has quickly picked up steam and has steadily climbed the Billboard charts over the past 40 weeks and remained in the top 10 on the Single: Hot Gospel Songs Chart.
For the past few years, Crawford and her family (husband, Todd, and two kids – 24-year-old LaTrina and 12-year-old Todd Jr.) have lived in Florida, where they have launched their own church, Gainesville Family Life Center.
